I have been a compulsive gambler for the past 13 years. My addiction took me to places that I never thought I would go. I lied to family and friends about my gambling, where my money was going and even stole money from my employer and was contemplating suicide. I knew what I was doing was wrong but the gambling addiction had me lying to myself that maybe I could win back the money and then stop, but of course I could never win enough. I finally made the call after I lost a long term relationship, lost my job and was facing legal issues I am so glad I did, the program works. I am now 6 months without gambling. I have an understanding of why I gambled and what to do to prevent returning to the addiction. I have met many people that I consider my friends and support group that are also going through the program. It feels like such a weight has been lifted and a huge relief to not have the constant thoughts of gambling. I encourage you to call. You will find so much support, education and friends that will help you to stop the madness of the gambling addiction. -LC
